HOW TO STYLE WHITE TRAINERS

Why Every Guy Needs White Trainers

Clean, minimal and basic. This is what comes to mind when you think of white trainers. If you haven't already got a pair, now's the time! As they are neutral and streamlined, and not eye-catching, they're more versatile than you might think. They go with clothes from jeans to formal trousers.

White trainers can make your outfit look more polished, depending on which trainers you opt for. Make sure you go for a simple pair, without logos, or any extra details. In this post I will run through five styles you can rock white trainers with.

White Trainers & Black Jeans

Who doesn't like wearing all-black? This is the minimal trend sweeping men's wear this year. White trainers break up the colour from an all-black look.

You can opt for high or low trainers. Remember the goal is to remain minimal, so stick with 'no show' socks and keep tees, shirts and jackets neutral. Jeans need to be skinny or slim fit for a closer fit to the body, which will also make you look taller.

White Trainers & Skinny Jeans

Another look this season is skinny denim jeans. The white sneaker looks brilliant with denim.

This can easily be styled with a white/grey denim jacket, T-shirt, indigo skinny jeans and white trainers. This works as it is a casual vibe which you could rock whilst running your errands, yet even a sharp enough look if going on an afternoon date.

White Trainers & Shorts

When you wear shorts, trainers are the obvious choice, although they're not easy to pull off. Shorts and trainers could be seen as a gym outfit rather than a summer outfit.

For this reason, I would opt for a canvas style trainer, low cut and worn with a pair of 'no show' socks. It's a cooler and less expensive option opting for canvas rather than leather. Of course, if you're wearing chino shorts with a smart shirt then stick to the leather white trainers for that dressier vibe.

White Trainers & Chinos

For a look that will take you from day to night, go for white trainers and chinos. You can opt for navy or khaki chinos with a polo top, polo tee or a plain shirt.

This outfit is more comfortable and relaxed, but still gives the right signs that you've made an effort. Also, you'll be able to rock it day or night. Pair it with a bomber jacket or a raincoat for an urban style setting.

White Trainers & A Suit

A suit does not always have to be worn with a nice pair of shoes. These days the stylish, tailored fit suits give you the versatility of wearing white trainers too!

In the summer you will find many guys wearing suits with a plain t-shirt rather than a suit shirt. You can rock a pair of white trainers with 'no show' or ankle socks yet, if you're wearing a smarter suit with details as a tie, waistcoat or pocket square, then make sure you wear socks whilst rocking the white trainers.

Furthermore, remember to keep the trainers clean and bright, a dirty pair will ruin the whole outfit!
