My Story

Hi and welcome to my site! My name is Umesh.

I have created this blog site for men who struggle with dressing up or just need some advice on the latest styles, how to dress, colour combinations etc. I have always had a passion for fashion and dressing well overall and I believe you should dress the way you want to be addressed!

Many of my friends/family usually ask me for tips on clothing, heck sometimes I will have their girlfriends or wives asking me to dress their men haha!

After years of hearing this and receiving compliments for my dress sense I realised that in some way I was influencing these people. So, it got me thinking... If I was able to influence my friends and family, why not go a little further and try to influence others across the world?

So here I am with my first ever Fashion blog, hoping to influence any one who comes across my site!

As 'James Arthur Ray' once said....

"Trying is failing without honor"

But wait! That isn't the end of my story...

In life they say when you hit rock bottom that is when you can finally see clearly in front of you. Well between 2017 and 2018 I hit rock bottom and I felt like there was no way out. I cut my friends off, I was going to work but not communicating with anyone, I would go home and sit quietly whilst my family would be having discussions around me and I would even take pain killers everyday 'thinking' that I needed them. Then one evening whilst sitting with family, my mum asked me what was wrong and I replied with 'nothing'. She knew this was not true and she asked me further questions as she had noticed I was quiet for a few days now but I still responded with 'nothing', until finally I cracked and tears started to fall down my face.

This worried my parents even more and they said to me I could speak to them about anything, which I could but I felt I needed to speak to a stranger rather than family or friends. I had to speak to a professional I needed help! I was going to work every day thinking about ways of ending my life; I wanted out, I thought this was the only way! However, I never went through with it or even attempted such thing. Every time I would have these thoughts I would think about my Mum, Dad and Brother and how I could not put them through this pain. So once I realised I needed help I consulted the doctor and he referred me to a therapist and also prescribed me some anti depressants.

Throughout this time I had gone on sick leave from work to focus on getting myself better again. Every 2 weeks the doctor would ask me how I was getting on and every time I said the tablets are not working, I need a stronger dose. The dose was increased and did they improve my mood? A little. Was I more active? Not really, as I was knocked out most of the days. As weeks went on by I noticed that I was relying on these tablets to make myself happy and get me through the day, this was going to be my life from now on I thought! But then something magical happened... I was introduced to 'The Secret'.

The Secret is a book written by Rhonda Byrne and is based on the belief of the 'Law of Attraction'. The law states what you think about on a regular basis is what you will attract. For example, if you are thinking negative thoughts regularly then you will encounter more negative events in your life. However, changing your thought process to think positive thoughts will shift your energy and you will begin to attract positive events/people into your life. I was intrigued by this and at first thought it was a load of b******t. Nevertheless, I looked into it further and done a bit of research and I was surprised to see many famous celebrities also swearing by the Law of Attraction and The Secret.

As my thoughts were focussed on the Law of Attraction and what it can do, my energy had shifted and I was attracting more positive energy than negative. Days were going by and I was still on my medication, until one day I decided I will slowly start coming off it and focussing more on this new Law I was introduced to, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. I was still attending my therapy sessions although; even my therapist was amazed with how much I had changed within a short time frame. I was attending my sessions and passionately talking to him about The Secret, Law of Attraction and how it works.

Within a couple of months my therapy sessions were complete and I was also off the medication. Was it the Law of Attraction and The Secret that helped me? Yes in a way, but it was also my perseverance of becoming a better version of myself and giving myself that love that I so freely give to others!

Now each day before I get out of bed, I go through a list of things I am grateful for and I meditate daily. This sets me up for the day and puts me into the positive mind-set to conquer my goals!

This blog site isn't just for Fashion; it is also for Lifestyle and Gratitude. I want to help spread the word about the Law of Attraction and hopefully help others who are having a bad day or feel like there is no way out. Men are seen to be strong specimens but truth is we're still human at the end of the day! So guys, don't be afraid to reach out to loved ones if you're feeling down, it doesn't make you weak, it only makes you human!

Thanks for reading my story and hopefully, I will be able to help you along the way whether it is for fashion or to help you become a better version of yourself!
