Guys! What is the point of dressing good if you do not smell good right? Smelling good boosts your confidence and makes you feel good whilst walking around, talking to a group of friends or people.
In this post I will run through the top five colognes for 2019. These fragrances can be perfect gifts for your brother, boyfriend, dad or even yourself! I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
Just remember whichever fragrance you choose, don't over-apply it, it is a huge turn off and you will receive more negative comments than positive!
Applying Cologne Correctly
As mentioned previously when using cologne don't over-apply, as this is a huge put off for women and men! Here are a few tips on how to apply cologne the right way.
- Straight after your shower, dry yourself off and apply the cologne directly to the skin. It will absorb the scent better as your pored will be open at this moment.
- Make sure you hold the bottle between 3-6 inches away from you to get an even spread over your body.
- A best area to apply cologne is your neck, chest, forearms or pulse points. Do not spray on every single point mentioned. Start off with one area and apply to others if scent fades. Remember less is more!
How not to apply Cologne
There are some mistakes guys make when applying cologne that you should take into consideration. The big mistake many of us make is that we spray cologne onto our clothing. By doing this you are in fact making the cologne fade faster. Another thing not to do is rubbing the cologne into your skin; again it messes with the natural oils in your skin and does not give off the correct scent.

Before I jump into the top five colognes, I am always asked whether to buy Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum? So what is the difference you may ask? Well Eau de Toilette contains 5-9% of perfume oil and Eau de Parfum usually contains 8-14%.
This means that Eau de Parfum last longer and smell more intense. If you purchase Eau de Parfum you will find you have to spray less than Eau de Toilette. It is worth considering your options when it comes to this, as Eau de Toilette is usually marginally cheaper than Eau de Parfum.
